Back at it April 🌷

After having a forced week off work, I am back to work and full of the joy’s of Spring. Fully rested and on the mend 😃  We found out a few weeks ago that we are finalists for the Welsh Independent Retail Awards 2019 which we are chuffed to bits about. Thank you to our customers for taking the time to vote for us. Super strong line up this year in the Jewellers section, keep your fingers crossed for us.  Launched a new edition to our Storm Collection: Tropical Storm Rings, a bit of spring colour. Plus a pendant to match our Shore Ring. Both have been really successful in the gallery.  Monday’s are our training day in the...

blogging

Long time no Blog update! No excuse apart from being busy making, repairing and designing gorgeous jewellery. The last three weeks have flown by “time flies when you are having fun” is quite correct. These past few weeks I have made so many beautiful pieces: wedding rings, shaped wedding bands, platinum rings, diamond full eternity, emerald studs x 2 pairs, two silver stone set dress rings, wedding ring pendant, black diamond piece, gold brooch, stone set silver cuff bangle, repaired and sized quite a few rings, and made a new pendant and ring to add to exsisting collections. Busy Bee's

Love this weather, it really feels like Spring has sprung. The  last couple of days has been crazy busy here in the shop. It's been lovely having Zero in with me, as its an excuse to get out for a walk with her. We are so lucky to have Dinefwr just up the road, perfect place for a quick break from my bench work. The spoon is finished and will be going off for Hallmarking next week, the emerald cut setting is also finished too. Managed to make a quick silver bangle to help a customer with an urgent birthday present, luckily had the perfect bullion in stock to make it. Bit of a pile of polishing to do today,...

A Monday with my dog

It's nice to be in work today after a whirlwind of a weekend of celebrating the rugby. What a game! Zero has joined me in work today. She has been playing at being a model with our St. Davids day dragon. I need to do quite a bit more training on her sit wait's as the photo below shows, luckily we did managed to get the perfect Insta Photo to share later, after many epic fails lol My next projects are large gem set silver rings, the first one being a gorgeous emerald cut lemon quartz. I think emerald cut settings are the most difficult to master, you need to take time getting the setting the correct shape, and keep...

The Shy Jeweller

22nd February 2019 Beautiful sunny and busy day in Llandeilo today, almost seems a shame to be working. I managed a bit more work on the spoon today,  plus a few repairs and made a some stock items too. Oh and a lot of chatting to friends and customers and drinking tea ; )     I made quite a few spoons as an apprentice many moons ago, but we use to have to hand forge them out of square heavy section wire. This was to practice our forging and finishing skills, making a modern style spoon is certainly a lot easier.
